Osaka`s Den Den Town

Den Den town is a shopping district in Osaka city, officially known as Nipponbashi, it is considered as an equivalent to Tokyo`s Akihabara Electric Town.

A decade ago the area was dominated by consumer electronic stores but in recent times the trend has shifted to manga, anime, video games and plastic model shops.

There are also plenty of restaurants ranging from small soba or ramen shops to larger restaurants,the most popular being those serving Japanese style dumplings, or gyoza.

Those interested in Gundam collectibles can visit the very impressive Gundam outlet known as Osaka Gundam`s, a two story building dedicated solely to sell Gundam plastic models, toys, keyholders and magazines.

Den Den Town is also home to several “garage kit” companies like the very famous Volks, producers of the Five Star Stories resin kits and Yellow Submarine, also producers of a wide range of resin model kits.

there are also plenty of stores selling radio control cars, plastic models and railway modelling products.
